Lucknow.Today, on December 4, 2025, a grand inauguration ceremony was held near Nakkhas Police Chowki in Lucknow for the gate established in the name of the renowned orator, the late Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar. The event was graced by special guests including Danish Azad Ansari, the Minister of Minority Welfare and Waqf of Uttar Pradesh; Maulana Saem Mehndi Naqvi, President of the All India Shia Personal Law Board; Maulana Fazlul Mannan Rahmani, Imam of Lucknow’s Shahi Tile Wali Mosque; Maulana Yasub Abbas, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Shia Personal Law Board; and Turaj Zaidi, former President of the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Committee, along with a large gathering of Shia religious leaders.Minister Danish Azad Ansari spoke on youth and social issues, highlighting that whenever he meets Maulana Yasub Abbas, he receives valuable suggestions for addressing youth unemployment, community welfare, safeguarding Waqf properties, and smooth conduct of Muharram processions. He expressed pride in participating in the inauguration of this magnificent gate named after such a beloved figure, famously remembered as Khatib-e-Akbar Maulana Athar Sahib. Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar’s sermons around the world conveyed messages of humanity and brotherhood that remain guiding principles today.Maulana Fazlul Mannan Rahmani, Imam of Tile Wali Mosque, called the construction of the gate in the name of the late Mirza Mohammad Athar a matter of great pride. He shared that Maulana Athar Sahib united people of all religions and castes with love and respect, like a bouquet comprising all kinds of flowers. Maulana Yasub Abbas thanked all collaborators in his address, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the municipal corporation for granting the gate pass and to all workers and contributors to the project. He especially thanked popular councilor Laik Aga Chanman, extending thanks on behalf of the community and his family for having the grand gate constructed in memory of their revered orator and religious scholar, Maulana Mirza Mohammad Athar, which will stand for years as a symbol before the community.Maulana Ejaz Athar thanked all guests present for their expressions of love during the program. He said that the presence of people from every community reflects the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb (cultural harmony) of the region, which represents the identity of the nation where people of all religions live together lovingly.
