Lucknow: Prateek Yadav, the younger son of Samajwadi Party founder and former Defense Minister Bharat Ratna Mulayam Singh Yadav, died mysteriously at Civil Hospital. A postmortem is being conducted at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), after which the exact cause of death will be known. Rumors are circulating on social media that the cause of death could be poison.
Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav arrived at Civil Hospital and KGMU. Responding emotionally to media questions, Akhilesh said, “Prateek and I grew up playing together. He was a very good boy who wanted to progress through his own hard work. We met just two months ago. I had told him to take special care of his business and health.”
When journalists asked if he would demand an investigation into the death, Akhilesh replied, “I haven’t thought about it yet. Whatever the family’s collective opinion is, that will be done.” It may be recalled that Prateek’s wife had previously made political allegations against Akhilesh Yadav and the Samajwadi Party. After that, reports of Prateek leaving his wife and expressing anger towards her went viral on social media. At that time, Akhilesh had said, “We are one family together.”
