Washington/Tel Aviv — Recent developments in global politics suggest that America’s close ties with Israel have come at a heavy price, particularly for President Donald Trump’s leadership. Many analysts and diplomats believe that Israel’s hardline stance and actions dragged the United States into the conflict like a fire brigade, and the consequences are now visible economically, diplomatically, and humanely.

According to recent reports and social media claims, President Trump phoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and reprimanded him in strong terms, urging him to halt bombing in Lebanon and to convene a lasting hearing/negotiation. It is also being cited in discussions that Trump said, “If it weren’t for us, Netanyahu would be in jail.” This statement spread rapidly on social media and is being interpreted across political circles. Critics argue that if Trump had pursued more consultation and diplomatic options earlier, the world would not today be grappling with widespread economic hardship, an energy crisis, and soaring fuel prices.

Trump’s repeatedly changing statements have deepened doubts. Contradictions were observed between official calls and public remarks, leading to the perception that American policy lacked clarity and stability. Some staunch critics even claim that Trump’s over-support for Israeli leadership led him to decisions that could have been avoided with better diplomatic advice.

The backlash is not merely diplomatic; domestically, the economic impact has been significant. Escalating inflation, energy shortages, and disrupted movement have increased pressure on the U.S. and many other economies. European allies’ refusal to fully support and the heavy economic burden have also damaged Trump’s international credibility.

Meanwhile, some analysts have advocated for greater restraint and patience toward Iran. They argue that if diplomatic options and consultations had been prioritized, the continent-scale damage and civilian tragedy could largely have been avoided. With recent signals of diplomatic moderation and willingness to negotiate from Iran, analysts have viewed it as a responsible and strategic competitor.

In conclusion, many diplomats believe America must now review its policy and acknowledge that it made mistakes in some fronts due to overconfidence. In this process, Israel’s international image has also been affected, and it now faces challenges on the world stage.
