Mother — Not Just a Word, but an Entire World By Shabu Zaidi

Spread the love

“Mother” may seem like a small word, but within this single word lies love, affection, sacrifice, devotion, prayers, values, upbringing, and an entire lifetime.
Perhaps no language in the world is capable of fully expressing a mother’s love and sacrifices.
I still remember very clearly —
Whenever I returned home late, my mother would sit at the door waiting anxiously, listening to every little sound. The moment someone said,
“Your son has arrived…”
a strange sense of peace would appear on her face.
As soon as I entered the house, her first question would always be,
“Why are you so late? Don’t you care about home?”
At that time, it seemed like just a question, but today I understand that it was not a question — it was a mother’s concern… her love.
No matter how late it was, she would serve me food with her own hands. She herself would be tired, yet there was never a complaint on her face.
Today, when my mother is no longer with me, I feel her absence every moment.
The house is the same, the people are the same, but the peace that came only from her presence has disappeared.
It is said that God placed all His love in a mother’s heart.
That is why a mother only knows how to give, without any selfishness.
There is a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad —
A man once asked,
“O Messenger of Allah! My mother remains very ill. I have served her greatly. Have I repaid her love and sacrifices?”
The reply was:
“No… You have not even repaid that one night when your mother carried you in her womb and walked the entire night in pain.”
Similarly, Rama accepted 14 years of exile to honor the promise made by his stepmother. He did not utter a single word in protest; he only said:
“It is my mother’s command.”
All religions, teachings, and values ultimately bow at the feet of a mother.
When we come into this world, crying, the very first word we utter is “Mother”…
And whenever life brings pain, the first word that again comes to our lips is — “Mother…”
In today’s busy world, people have become so lost in work, money, and worldly struggles that they hardly find time to sit and talk with their parents.
But remember —
The day a mother’s shadow leaves your head forever, you truly understand what the greatest treasure in life was.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, those whose mothers are still alive are the luckiest people in the world.
Mother’s Day should not be just a festival; it should be a day of commitment —
that we will never hurt our mother’s heart…
that we will respect her…
spend time with her…
and just as she raised us through hardships, we will become the support of her old age.
A mother spends her entire life living for her children.
Now it is our turn to become the source of peace in her life.
Because everything in this world can be found again…
but a mother can never be found again.
