Medina, 3rd Sha’ban 4 Hijri (Today’s Historic Remembrance Day) – Today is written in golden letters in the history of Islam. In the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia, the Prince of Paradise descended into the home of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) daughter Hazrat Fatima Zahra (S.A.) and the first Imam Hazrat Ali (A.S.). The Noble Prophet (PBUH) named his beloved grandson ‘Husain,’ which means ‘beautiful’ – beautiful in every physical, spiritual, and form. This birth was not merely an event, but a new ray of hope for humanity.Hazrat Husain (A.S.) is that pearl of the Prophet’s family (Ahl al-Bayt) in whose honor there are countless hadiths. The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) said: “Hasan and Husain are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.” Another famous hadith states that on the occasion of Eid, angels brought clothes for them from Paradise.The Prophet (S.A.W.) declared, “Hasan and Husain are the light of my eyes; whoever hurts them hurts me.” During prayer prostration, when these Princes of Paradise would playfully climb onto the Prophet’s (S.A.W.) back, he would prolong the prostration until the children descended of their own accord.The Immutable Importance of Imam Husain in IslamImam Husain (A.S.) became the protector of Islam.
Among the guardians of the Quran and Sunnah from the Prophet’s family, he became the one who freed Islam from the chains of oppression.The battlefield of Karbala (61 Hijri) is the symbol of his martyrdom,
where he raised the flag of truth against Yazid’s brutality. This struggle is not just Shia-Sunni; it is the true picture of Islam for every Muslim – where bowing to injustice is forbidden. His martyrdom transformed Ashura into a message of humanity for the world,
which continues to inspire millions even today.Indian Sanatan Brothers’ Profound Love for Imam HusainIn India, the love for Imam Husain (A.S.) in the hearts of Hindu brothers is far deeper than that of many Muslims who claim it merely by birth. Heartfelt salaam to our Sanatan brothers!They carry tazias on Ashura, perform matam in remembrance of Karbala – this love is an example of true humanity. The Sanatan principle of ‘Ahimsa Paramo Dharma’ is reflected in Imam Husain’s sacrifice, where he offered everything for truth, not violence. The principle of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ matches his beautiful martyrdom, and the Karmayoga of the Bhagavad Gita was realized on the field of Karbala, where Husain (A.S.) fulfilled his duty without worrying about the result. This unity proves that Husain is the prince of all religions.Immortal Contribution to Humanity and HumanitarianismImam Husain (A.S.) taught that sacrifice on the path of truth is the essence of life. In Karbala, along with 72 companions, he confronted oppression steadfastly, not abandoning the path even for thirsty children. His message still echoes: “I saw that religion was being destroyed, so I set out to save it.” His sacrifice challenged tyranny and revived humanity. In today’s era, when injustice is rampant everywhere, Imam Husain’s message teaches us – rivers of blood may flow, but the voice of truth will not be buried.
