**Shabu Zaidi**

In a mosque in Kanpur, Dr. Nasir Khan, MBBS, MD, has been serving thousands of people every Friday for years. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians—all come to share their ailments and receive free medicines. Dr. Khan, without any discrimination, continues his medical service as long as patients arrive, setting an example of humanity. No one has ever objected based on religion or caste. This scene not only reflects Kanpur’s Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb but also proves that religious places are meant for humanity’s service, not division.

**The Message of Unity in the Quran and Hadith:**
In Islam, mosques are not just for prayers but also for social and humanitarian work. Historical texts like Ibn Hisham’s *Seerat-e-Nabi* and Tabari record that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) welcomed Christians from Najran in Masjid-e-Nabawi and engaged in dialogue with them. A hadith states: *“Whoever fulfills the need of another, Allah fulfills their need”* (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 2442). Misreferenced as the “Rasgulla Hadith,” it emphasizes human service and compassion, the essence of all religions.

**Why the Objection to Akhilesh Yadav?**
The objections raised by some against Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav visiting a mosque and calling him “Mulla Akhilesh” are unfortunate and question our shared culture. During his tenure, Akhilesh introduced schemes like the 1090 Women Helpline, Samajwadi Health Service, and Agra-Lucknow Expressway, benefiting all communities. His mosque visit symbolizes unity and brotherhood, yet some give it a communal color. These are the same people who recite “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and the Gayatri Mantra but fail to live their message.

**The Message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Gayatri Mantra:**
– **Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam**: Derived from the Mahopanishad, it means “the world is one family,” inspiring us to treat all humans equally with love and cooperation.
– **Gayatri Mantra**: “Om Bhur Bhuvah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam, Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat.” It calls for meditating on the divine power that guides our intellect toward truth and wisdom, praying for universal welfare without discrimination.

**Lucknow’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb:**
Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, has been a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity for centuries. In mosques like Padan, Shehdre, and Shamina, people of all faiths come to pray. Similarly, Muslims participate in temple activities. This tehzeeb teaches us that religious places are centers of love and unity, not conflict. Yet, some attempt to defame or destroy mosques, and the lack of opposition to this is sad.

**Solutions to Religious Disharmony:**
Dr. Nasir Khan and Akhilesh Yadav show that true humanity transcends religious boundaries. To end religious disharmony, we need:
1. **Education and Awareness**: Understand and spread the true messages of the Quran, Hadith, Gita, and Upanishads.
2. **Dialogue**: Bring communities together, as seen in recent meetings between Mohan Bhagwat and Muslim clerics.
3. **Service**: Make religious places centers of human service, like Dr. Nasir Khan.
4. **Shared Culture**: Promote Lucknow’s tehzeeb nationwide, where temples and mosques symbolize unity.

**Conclusion:**
The work of Dr. Nasir Khan and Akhilesh Yadav teaches us that mosques, temples, or any religious place are for humanity’s service. Whether it’s “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” the Gayatri Mantra, or Hadith teachings—all echo love, service, and unity. Let’s embrace these values to end religious disharmony and build a world where every human respects one another. Pray and work for the nation’s unity, integrity, and brotherhood, and support the vision of Hon’ble Narendra Modi for inclusive development with “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
