A meeting of the Ali Congress organisation was held today at Arif Ashiana in Lucknow. The most important aspect of this meeting was the sending of a letter to the President of India regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. This letter was also sent to Jagdambika Pal and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha earlier.
The President of the organisation, Mrs. Rubina Javed Murtaza, stated that no bill can become a law without the signature of the President of India. According to Article 111 of the constitution of India, the President of the Republic of India has the right to accept or not, or return it to Parliament for reconsideration. Therefore, the organization deemed it appropriate to send the letter to the President regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024, which was sent to Her Excellency via email.
Mrs. Murtaza further added that the opposition’s decision to oppose the Waqf Bill, considering the issues & rights of country’s largest minority, is a good step.
During the meeting, the organisation condemned the US government’s decision to deport Indian citizens with handcuffs and shackles, terming it shameful and as a violation of human rights.
Regarding the Urdu language, it was discussed that it is unfortunate that people are unaware that languages are not related to religion but to regions. God has made mankind capable to express themselves.Languages originated as humans began to express themselves, and they vary based on regions but share similarities where connections exist. All languages are important, and what matters is the content and intent behind the words, not the language itself.
