Rahul Gandhi Raises His Voice in Support of Woman Activist Ritu Barala
New Delhi | Shabu Zaidi
Amid the ongoing political confrontation over the SIR issue and demands for the resignation of the Election Commission, the Congress party has accused Delhi Police of assaulting a woman activist.
According to the Congress, NSUI activist Ritu Barala was detained during a protest against alleged “vote theft” in Delhi. The party alleged that female police constable Chanchal Yadav assaulted Ritu inside a police bus and that she was later beaten on her legs with batons at the police station.
The Congress condemned the alleged incident as an act of brutality and demanded action. Ritu reportedly said that she would continue fighting against injustice and would not be intimidated.
