Before the Bihar Assembly elections, the last Ramadan and Roza are being observed. To woo Muslims, Bihar’s small and big political parties are not offering “employment” but are instead luring them with Roza Iftar parties.
The best part is that our religious brothers who have made their own sects and mosques, where entry of other sects is not allowed, are attending these political Roza Iftar parties and breaking their fast with the money earned by political parties, thinking they are pleasing Allah. This has become a topic of discussion in electronic media.
One of our religious brothers was giving an interview to the media, saying, “I attend Roza Iftar parties, but I won’t vote for them because they didn’t support the Waqf amendment bill.” Meanwhile, in these Roza Iftar parties, leaders are seen wearing Islamic attire, which is unusual.
Are these the same people whose ancestors fasted during Ramadan despite poverty and stayed strong on the path of their faith? They would give away their Iftar items to the poor and break their fast with just water, thanking Allah. What has happened to their descendants now? Why are they making a mockery of their own community?
Why don’t they use their intelligence and talk about education, employment, health, housing, and security for their children instead of attending Roza Iftar parties? So that the future generation can get educated and employed.
