Lucknow: District Administration’s Commendable Arrangements Ensure a Peaceful CelebrationLucknow, February 3, 2026: The city of Lucknow brimmed with religious fervor as the Muslim community observed Shab-e-Barat on the 15th of Sha’ban in the Islamic calendar. Devotees flocked in large numbers to cemeteries to recite Fateha at the graves of their loved ones. Major Muslim graveyards like Talkatora, Aishbagh, Khajur ka Takia, and Nishatganj glowed with fireworks, shimmering lights, and flickering lamps throughout the night. The stream of worshippers reciting Fateha continued well into the wee hours.Earlier, people meticulously repaired graves, cleaned them spotlessly, and adorned them with fresh flower garlands, making the cemeteries gleam with purity.The district administration’s praiseworthy efforts turned this occasion into a historic triumph. The DM, SSP, and all officials remained actively engaged. Police and PRV teams maintained vigilant oversight at every cemetery, intersection, lane, and neighborhood. Traffic arrangements were impeccably managed, with special parking facilities provided. Sanitation workers dutifully served through the night. Thanks to these measures, no untoward incidents occurred, earning the administration open gratitude from the community.The DM remarked, “Our top priority is peace and security. The cooperation from devotees has been exemplary.”Known as ‘Laylat al-Bara’ah’ or the Night of Forgiveness from Sins, Shab-e-Barat saw mosques alive with Tahajjud prayers, optional Nafl, and heartfelt supplications.
