Large-scale protests have taken place in Italy against inflation, low wages, and poor public services. In Milan and Bologna, some demonstrations turned violent, with shops vandalized and police officers attacked.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the violence, stating that peaceful protest is a fundamental right of every citizen, but damaging public property and attacking police officers is unacceptable.
Following the violence, around 50 people were detained in Milan and at least seven in Bologna. Meanwhile, in France, approximately 400 people were arrested during protests against inflation and the rising cost of living.
