No Relief for Azam Khan Even After Spending 10 Years Behind Bars! ED Arrested Him Just 40 Minutes After His Release; Disappointment from Supreme Court Too

New Delhi | November 6, 2026

The troubles of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan seem far from over. After spending nearly 10 years behind bars, hopes of his release had finally emerged. However, just 40 minutes after he walked out of jail, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him.

Azam Khan challenged his arrest in the Supreme Court. During the hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal argued that even cows, buffaloes and goats had been linked to alleged proceeds of crime.

For now, the Supreme Court declined to grant relief and directed the Allahabad High Court to hear the matter.

Azam Khan’s situation is increasingly becoming an example of political and legal struggle. Once known for his outspoken remarks, the changing political circumstances have turned into nothing short of a storm for him.
