Lucknow Echoes with “Ya Gaus Al-Madad” as Juloos-e-Gausia Held with Dignity and Discipline

Under the auspices of the All India Mohammadi Mission, Jashn-e-Gaus-ul-Wara and the traditional Juloos-e-Gausia were taken out from the Dargah of Hazrat Makhdoom Shah Meena Shah (RA) in Chowk on the occasion of 11th Rabi-us-Sani 1448 AH. The procession was held with grandeur, dignity, peace and discipline. It was led by the founder and national president of the All India Mohammadi Mission and descendant of Gaus-e-Azam, Hazrat Syed Ayub Ashraf Kichhauchhvi.
Representatives of various Anjumans, Islamic scholars, Imams of mosques, office-bearers of the Mission and a large number of devotees of Gaus-e-Azam participated in the procession. Horses, horse-drawn carriages, tableaux, flags and placards remained major attractions. The atmosphere remained spiritual with chants of “Ya Gaus Al-Madad”, along with Naat, Manqabat and Salat-o-Salam.
The traditional Juloos-e-Gausia began at around 10 am from different parts of Lucknow. People from Khadra, Faizullahganj, Aagameer Deori, Janata Nagari, Nabiullah Road, Machhli Mohal, Balaganj and several other areas joined the procession and reached Dargah Makhdoom Shah Meena Shah.
At around 1 pm, the procession gathered at the dargah and proceeded via Medical Chauraha to the shrine of Hazrat Haji-ul-Harmain Shah (RA), located at KGMU. Jashn-e-Gausia, Fateha, Salat-o-Salam and prayers were offered there for the country, the state and the well-being of all people. The procession concluded thereafter.
On the occasion, All India Mohammadi Mission founder and national president Hazrat Syed Ayub Ashraf said that the life of Gaus-e-Pak, Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA), is a message of humanity, good character and noble conduct. His teachings inspire people to be truthful, honest, compassionate, humble and beneficial to others.
He said the life of Gaus-e-Pak is an example of steadfastness in truth. During his childhood, his caravan was reportedly surrounded by bandits. However, following his mother’s advice, he truthfully disclosed the money he was carrying. His honesty had a deep impact on the bandits and compelled them to reconsider their wrongful path.
All India Mohammadi Mission Secretary General Hazrat Syed Babar Ashraf said that the teachings of Gaus-e-Pak should not be confined merely to celebrations and rituals but should be incorporated into everyday life. Helping the poor and needy, showing compassion towards the vulnerable, avoiding lies and injustice, and ensuring that no one is hurt by one’s words or actions are among the ways of following the teachings of Gaus-e-Pak.
He said that some people, for their worldly interests, attempt to mislead others through falsehood, misinformation and the misuse of religious sentiments. There is a need to remain cautious of such people. He said that truth cannot remain hidden for long and eventually reality comes to light. Wealth and fame remain behind in this world, while a person’s character and deeds accompany them.
Pir-e-Tariqat Hazrat Mohammad Ali Arif Mian Naqshbandi said that no person should pass on any information without first knowing the truth. Avoiding lies, rumours and misleading information is a responsibility of society. People should remain cautious of anything that spreads hatred, divides people or misleads them for personal interests. The essence of Gaus-e-Pak’s teachings is that a person should never resort to falsehood.
Hazrat Syed Mohammad Ahmed Mian said that repeating a lie again and again does not turn it into truth, and misleading someone does not absolve a person of responsibility towards the truth. Therefore, instead of accepting anything blindly, people should understand its authenticity and distinguish between right and wrong. He also stressed the need to remain cautious of those who seek personal gains through religious sentiments, falsehood and misrepresentation.
All India Mohammadi Mission Vice-President Dr. Syed Shahabuddin Ashraf said that hatred and differences are increasing in society. At such a time, unity, patience, wisdom and mutual respect are needed more than ever. Instead of searching for the shortcomings of others, people should focus on improving their own character.
Senior Vice-President Pirzada Shakir Ali Minai, popularly known as Babu Bhai, arranged the langar on behalf of the Makhdoom Shah Meena Foundation. Pirzada Nasir Ali Minai, Youth Vice-President of the All India Mohammadi Mission, supervised the arrangements for the langar.
Mission Secretary Hazrat Masood Ashraf Siddiqui expressed gratitude to the Anjumans, Islamic scholars, Imams of mosques, journalists and the administration for their cooperation. He said that with everyone’s support, the programme concluded peacefully and with brotherhood, dignity and discipline.
The Jashn-e-Gaus-ul-Wara began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Iftekhar Alam Habibi, followed by Naat and Manqabat. Qari Gulabuddin conducted the proceedings, while Maulana Zakir Minai spoke about the life and teachings of Gaus-e-Azam, Hazrat Pir Abdul Qadir Jilani.
