The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has begun construction of a 9.9-kilometre road connecting Ghaila Bridge on IIM Road to Naimish Nagar in the Uttar Pradesh capital. The project, estimated to cost around ₹53 crore, aims to improve traffic movement and provide smoother connectivity to nearby residential areas.

Road to Be 24 Metres Wide

Under the project, a 24-metre-wide embankment road and link roads will be constructed. The existing road connecting IIM Road to Naimish Nagar via Mubarakpur Crossing is also planned to be widened. The current width of this road is reported to be approximately 10 metres.

The expansion of the Green Corridor is expected to improve connectivity to the Naimish Nagar residential scheme and make daily commuting easier for residents of surrounding areas.

Development Work Accelerated in Naimish Nagar

LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the development works and issued necessary instructions to officials.

Basic infrastructure facilities, including roads, sewerage, drinking water supply and drainage, are being developed in the first and second phases of the Brahm Khand and Bhoomi Khand sectors of the Naimish Nagar scheme. Registration has also been opened for a total of 1,673 plots across these two sectors.

In addition, officials have been directed to develop basic infrastructure in Saidapur and Kodri Bhauli villages, which fall within the scheme area.

The expansion of the Green Corridor is expected to improve road connectivity, address the needs of the area’s growing population and facilitate smoother transportation.
