Lucknow: SGPGI Doctors Save Mother and Unborn Baby in Complex Surgery

Doctors at SGPGI, Lucknow, achieved a major medical success by saving the lives of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby in an extremely complex case. The 32-week pregnant woman suddenly developed serious health complications. Medical examinations revealed that two of her heart valves were damaged, putting both the mother and her unborn baby at serious risk.
Facing this challenging situation, the medical team decided to perform a Cesarean delivery along with open-heart surgery. After a complex operation lasting approximately four and a half hours, the doctors successfully delivered the baby girl at 32 weeks and saved the lives of both the mother and her newborn.
