Iran Says It Can Reopen Strait of Hormuz Within Seven Days

Iran has said that if the United States reduces military pressure and lifts the blockade of Iranian ports, it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. The proposal is being described as one of Iran’s most straightforward offers so far.
Meanwhile, Iran’s military central command said it had received information that the United States was preparing to resume military operations with the support of regional countries. It warned that if such an operation takes place, Tehran would respond “without any limits or restraint.”
A senior Iranian official said, “The United States must announce that it wants to resolve this issue diplomatically, make it official, and then agree on a timeline to move the process forward.”
The official also said that Iran’s delegation to the United Nations General Assembly is currently in New York and has full authority to resume diplomatic talks with the United States.
