Taking India–Indonesia relations to a new level, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced the conferment of the country’s highest civilian honour, “Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna” (Bintang Adipurna), on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President Prabowo Subianto stated that Prime Minister Modi was honoured for his outstanding contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between India and Indonesia, promoting regional cooperation, and advancing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an official visit to Indonesia. During the visit, he held bilateral talks with President Prabowo Subianto, where the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, defence, maritime security, digital cooperation, energy, healthcare, and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the decades-old friendly ties between India and Indonesia. Several important agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors were also reached during the visit.
The honour bestowed upon Prime Minister Modi is being seen as a symbol of the deepening partnership between India and Indonesia. In the past as well, Prime Minister Modi has received several of the world’s highest civilian honours from different countries in recognition of his global leadership and contributions to international cooperation.
