England Defeat India by 4 Wickets in Second T20I, Take 1-0 Lead in Five-Match Series

Manchester: England produced an impressive all-round performance to defeat India by four wickets in the second T20 International of the five-match series. With the opening match washed out due to rain, this was the first game to produce a result, giving England a 1-0 lead in the series.

 

Playing at Old Trafford in Manchester, India won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors posted a competitive total of 190/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Ishan Kishan top-scored with 49 runs, while Abhishek Sharma contributed 43. Captain Shreyas Iyer also played a valuable innings to help India reach a challenging total. The match also marked the international debut of 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose appearance attracted considerable attention from cricket fans.

 

Chasing a target of 191, England displayed composed yet aggressive batting. Jacob Bethell starred with an unbeaten 76 off 46 deliveries, guiding his team to victory with six balls to spare and six wickets down. His match-winning knock earned him the Player of the Match award.

 

With this victory, England have taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series after the first match ended without a result due to rain. The third T20I will now be played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, where India will look to level the series, while England will aim to extend their advantage.
