At a press conference held at the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters in Lucknow, Congress leaders questioned the Election Commission over alleged irregularities in voter lists during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Allegations were raised regarding the replacement of names against the same EPIC number in the Pilibhit Sadar Assembly constituency and the threat to the voting rights of thousands of voters.
During the press conference, Rajendra Gautam, Supriya Shrinate, Imran Masood, and other leaders demanded an impartial investigation into the matter and accountability from the Election Commission.
The Congress announced that it would conduct a thorough examination of voter lists across all Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and continue its struggle through constitutional and legal means to protect democracy and every citizen’s fundamental right to vote.
