Traders Urge Rahul Gandhi to Postpone Ramlila Maidan Rally, Cite Potential Business Losses

New Delhi | Shabu Zaidi

Concerned about potential business disruptions during the festive season, traders in Delhi have appealed to Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to postpone the mega rally scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan on November 1. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written to Rahul Gandhi, requesting that the rally be rescheduled.

According to CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal, around 20 major wholesale and retail markets are located in the vicinity of Ramlila Maidan. Traffic restrictions and disruptions to the movement of people during the rally could affect business activities and potentially cause losses worth crores of rupees.

Brijesh Goyal has requested Rahul Gandhi to hold the rally after Bhai Dooj. He has appealed for the event to be postponed until November 10, stating that the festive period is particularly important for traders and retailers.

The traders believe that rescheduling the rally could help prevent potential financial losses and allow businesses to continue operating smoothly during the festive season.

As of now, no decision from Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party regarding the traders’ request has been reported.
