Shia Cleric Maulana Yasoob Abbas Returns from Iran After Representing India at Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s Funeral, Addresses International Media

Lucknow, July 8: Senior Shia cleric and General Secretary of the All India Shia Personal Law Board, Maulana Yasoob Abbas, has returned to India after attending the funeral procession of the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Iran upon a special invitation from the Iranian authorities.

Maulana Yasoob Abbas was the first Indian Shia cleric to participate in this historic funeral ceremony. During the funeral and memorial events, he paid tribute to the late leader and represented the sentiments of the Indian Shia community.

During his visit to Iran, Maulana Yasoob Abbas also addressed several national and international media organizations. In his interactions, he spoke about the personality and legacy of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, conveyed the emotions of the Indian Shia community, and highlighted the longstanding religious and cultural ties between India and Iran.

Upon his return to India, Maulana Yasoob Abbas received a warm welcome from his supporters and members of the community. His visit is being viewed as an important step in strengthening the religious, cultural, and social relations between India and Iran.
