Luckno wfamous worldwide for its Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb,
the same Nawabi Awadh built Roza, Imambaras, and Karbala in this city—’May Allah elevate their status’—in the name of Aal-e-Rasool, i.e., the 14 Ma’sums.
Among such historic buildings, the world-famous Peer Bukhara and the Black Imambara located in Thakurganj are prominent, which was built about 300 years ago by Nawab Mirza Khan Salar Jung, the maternal uncle of Awadh’s Nawab Mirza Ali Khan. Its beauty is worth beholding—the walls, arches, and the entire historic building are painted black,
and on the walls, Quranic verses are engraved in paper bowl-like prints, which further enhance its beauty. The regret of the current situation
But it’s regrettable that we are not properly protecting such invaluable heritage. Today, garbage is strewn at the gate behind the Imambara, the path is broken and lying there, with stray animals roaming around; people urinate on the walls. According to sources, there are even illegal encroachments on some property. The community wants to know from the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board—why is the security and cleaning of this Imambara not happening? Questions should be raised on this. Today, most of the Board’s properties are deteriorating.A reminder of the Hereafter
Remember, on the Day of Judgment, we will be questioned first, and those who claim love for Aal-e-Rasool and talk of giving their lives will be questioned the most—why didn’t you even raise a question for the protection of your historic buildings?Explain the reason. So understand right now what answer you will give in the Hereafter, and take positive steps to save this heritage.
