Lucknow, February 11, 2026: Widespread praise in the Shia community—Imam-e-Juma of Asifi Masjid, Maulana Kalbe Javed, has uploaded a video on social media raising a major demand in the upcoming meeting of Shia Central Waqf Board Uttar Pradesh.He stated that the board should hand over its large properties to Matmi Anjumans, as demanded earlier too. Sources say the board’s term is ending, and the Shia community has gained no benefit from this board committee.Wandering through neighborhoods, I met noble souls like Abbas Mukherjee (who provides free education to poor children, pays their fees, and has embraced Islam), who said that giving properties to Anjumans will increase care for the poor there. In Anjumans’ (Shab-e-Darya), successful children will be honored, destitute children will get funds for education-health. Along with this, free coaching centers (NET, SSC, etc.) will be opened—this will be a praiseworthy step.Dr. Ahsan said that Maulana’s this plan should have been implemented long ago. Then the black-marketing of shrines would stop, free shroud-burial arrangements for the poor would happen.In the meeting, prioritize giving large properties like Talkatora, Aishbagh, Mishra ki Bagiya, Ghaffarnabad to Anjumans— the community will benefit immensely.Kamba Raja added that Maulana Yasub Abbas of Shia Personal Law Board has also made the same demand. If both Maulanas pressure, the board will be forced to agree. This will bring transparency in Waqf properties, poor will get shroud-burial, education-health, and free coaching for SSC-NET will give opportunities to economically weaker sections.
